Three former Michigan State University football players accused in the 2017 sexual assault of a woman in an apartment bathroom have pleaded guilty to reduced charges.

Hinsdale South graduate Josh King, Donnie Corley Jr. and Demetric Vance pleaded guilty Wednesday to seducing an unmarried woman.

King, a 20-year-old from Darien, also pleaded guilty to surveilling an unclothed person, according to the Lansing State Journal.

As a result of the deal, none of the men are scheduled to serve additional jail time, the State Journal reported.

The State Journal added that their records will be sealed “under a Michigan law that allows judges to close the records of young offenders as long as they meet the terms of their agreement and do not commit any future offenses.”

Act 328 of 1931 in the Michigan Penal Code says “any man who shall seduce and debauch any unmarried woman shall be guilty of a felony.”

The charge is punishable by up to five years in prison. Longer sentences could have been imposed under the original criminal sexual conduct charges the men had faced.

King had been charged with first- and third-degree criminal sexual conduct charges and a charge of distributing an image of an unclothed person. Had he been convicted, King faced up to life in prison. Of the three former Spartans, he faced the most serious charges.

Ingham County Prosecutor Carol Siemon said in a statement that the “plea to seduction … allows the criminal justice system to acknowledge the victim” and “provides an incentive for that offender to plea, in particular because it’s not an offense that requires that they register as a sex offender.”

Sentencing is scheduled for June 6.

The victim’s attorney, Karen Truszkowski, told Deadspin her client was not happy with the plea deal.

“Is it what she wanted? No. Obviously not,” Truszkowski said. “But she’s glad that portion of the proceedings are over with, and she’s glad that they stood in open court and pleaded guilty to something, finally, because they’ve been adamant all along that what happened was consensual — and it wasn’t.”

King, Corley and Vance were kicked off the team when charges were filed last year.

King, who graduated from Hinsdale South in 2016, was the top football recruit in the state as a senior, according to the 247Sports composite rating. King also was a two-time state wrestling champion, capturing the Class 3A title at 220 pounds in 2015 and winning the Class 2A title at 285 pounds the following season.
